I know I know, you loyal readers have been going crazy for a couple weeks, huh? Sorry! My computer charger has completely given up on me, so my computer has been dead for a week or so now. I ordered a new charger from China on Ebay, but apparently they take holidays pretty seriously there and their mail won't be going out for seven days due to some holiday.

Anyway... After Siena and San Gimignano, we stayed in Florence for a weekend. McKenzie's dad was in town on business, so we were treated to a nice dinner last Saturday night! On Sunday I had pretty much the laziest day ever and was able to watch the entire third season of Weeds.
I have the week summed up in pictures...kind of. In my effort to upload pictures, I lost patience with Blogger and all the pictures are out of order. I think its more like reverse order, but you'll get it, I promise :).

So for starters, here are some random pictures. I was having a "blah" day and I decided to go on a walk in an area I've never been. It ended up being almost out of town, and I turned around and there was an amazing view of Florence... enjoy!

Porta Romana... right up the street from my apartment.

Gilli- our favorite cafe. We consume an average of 4 cafe lattes, and many pastries here each week.

Another 20 Euro well spent in Florence. McKenzie and I decided to get our palms read. After he pretty much rehearsed his skit he got off the internet, I found out I'll only live until I'm 38, I'm going to cheat on my husband, and something about spaghetti. He also told me I had goo luck... ironic? So enjoy me while ya can folks!

One Saturday afternoon, while I was searching for the perfect pair of leather boots, we saw this festival going on. Its to celebrate the new season of wine in the Chianti wine region. There was a parade complete with people dressed in Renaissance clothing, wagons full of wine and cheese, and even a very loud cannon?? We thought at first they were taking someone to the center to be beheaded. We were happy to find out it was just a crazy celebration for wine!

Abbey and I always go out to dinner on Wednesday nights. We usually end up at the Lion's Gate, our favorite hang out, after dinner. We found an Iowa State shirt on the ceiling, so if Bre, Stef, or Laura are out there, we added our name to your shirt! Hope you don't mind.

I don't think I ever posted pictures of the street I live on and the outside of my apartment... So here it is!

Ok...no hard feelings, but I have to pick on you. We do have a drying rack and a clothes line, but some prefer to hang their wet clothes on lamps and TV antennas.
Our first time at the fruit market. It was probably bigger than Target and had two floors! We don't know if we'll go back though, because several of the things we got weren't very good, including my seriously nasty apples.
The Uffizi Gallery... usually crammed with people.
Gusta Pizza...BEST pizza in Florence!
Santa Croce, one of the many beautiful churches in Florence. We read about it in my art history class.

Oooook, sorry for the very uninteresting blog. I guess that's what happens when you wait two weeks to post anything. My roommate McKenzie also has a blog, and since we do mostly the same things you may want to visit it. It's alot more interesting than mine, so you can see her's at www.mckenzies-sandginas.blogspot.com. BUT stayed tuned for my Oktoberfest blog, I guarentee excitement. I may even post a video of Abbey and I dancing on a table...we'll have to see ;).

I hope you all have a good week, mine is already half over. I love getting emails from people, so PLEASE fill me in on your lives...I feel so disconnected!

LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU!
